What will you do?

    As a Sous Chef, you will report to the Head Chef and will jointly lead the kitchen team to ensure consistency of preparation and adherence to the restaurant’s standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the kitchen team in absence of the Head Chef;
  • Training your team in matters of quality and hygiene standards;
  • Monitoring the freshness and quality of ingredients and deliveries to ensure all products are top-notch;
  • Monitoring waste reduction and portion control;
  • Ensuring food costs are aligned with the allocated budget;
  • Contributing to the development of new dishes and menu creation, including its costing.

Who are you?

  • You have at least 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef, preferably at a fast paced and high-volume restaurant or hotel;
  • Previous experience working in an Italian restaurant is a plus!
  • You have a true passion for food and creating unique experiences for guests;
  • You possess strong leadership and communication skills;
  • You have excellent planning and organisational skills;
  • You have a creative mindset and adaptability to a flexible work environment;
  • You are detail-oriented and capable of handling stress;
  • Proficiency in using Excel, Word, and ordering platforms is expected;
  • You have a good command of the English language, both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in other languages is a plus;
  • You are legally permitted to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid dutch work permit;
  • You live in Amsterdam (or nearby).
