Host(ess) for renowned hospitality brand

Are you a hospitable and guest-oriented person, eager to provide an unforgettable, first-class experience to guests? Would you like to develop yourself in the largest hotel in the center of Amsterdam? Then we have just the thing for you!

What will you do?

    As Host(ess) you will be responsible for welcoming guests at the hotel’s award-winning rooftop terrace. After a warm welcome, you will seat the guests and answer their questions, setting the tone for the service and hospitality of the hotel. You will coordinate bookings and reservations and, when it is quiet, you may also assist with the “mise en place” or the cleaning of tables. If necessary, you will have contact with the security staff, for example when guests are not behaving as requested.
You will work several shifts, but usually in the evening when the terrace is at its busiest. These shifts usually end between midnight and 2 AM. The other shifts you can be assigned to are those from 10 AM to 6 PM and from 3 PM to midnight. You can also work during the many events that are organized on the rooftop terrace.
  • You have at least one year of relevant work experience within the hospitality industry or in a host(ess) role
  • You have strong communication skills
  • You are knowledgeable and able to work with basic Microsoft Office programs
  • You are able to work under pressure
  • Knowledge of and interest in quality food and drinks is a plus!
  • You have a good command of the English language, both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in other languages is a plus
  • You are legally permitted to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid dutch work permit
  • You live in Amsterdam (or nearby)
