What will you do?

    As Demi Chef de Partie, your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing high-quality culinary dishes;
  • Preparation activities such as washing, cutting and precooking the necessary raw materials;
  • Plate assembly utilising a la minute cooking techniques;
  • Portioning and garnishing dishes and arranging presentation according to recipes;
  • Checking the freshness of ingredients on a regular basis based on colour and flavour;
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of menus;
  • Reporting maintenance, hygiene or other hazard issues;
  • Contributing to cost control, waste reduction, and other departmental objectives;
  • Ensuring that the company’s guidelines/SOP are followed.

Who are you?

  • You have one or two years of experience working in a 4-5 star hotel or a high-end restaurant;
  • You have a completed SVH cook’s diploma (SVH Zelfstandig Werkend Kok);
  • You can both work individually or in a team;
  • You have a certificate of compliance with (Dutch) HACCP rules and regulations;
  • You have an allergy regulation certificate;
  • You are familiar with kitchen hygiene activities as well as health and safety standards;
  • You are creative, hands-on, and have an eye for detail;
  • You are proficient in a variety of cooking techniques;
  • You are motivated and enthusiastic; You have a good command of the English language;
  • You are legally permitted to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid dutch work permit;
  • You live in Amsterdam (or nearby).

Terms of Employment

  • Full-time contract of 38 hours per week;
  • CAO Horeca salary scale 5. This is usually between € 2,052.36 and € 2,524.17 gross per month;
  • 25 holiday days per year;
  • Travel allowance of up to €150 per month, based on mileage;
  • Night surcharge of 20% and Sunday surcharge of 5%;
