
Conference & Events Manager for luxury Amsterdam hotel
Who is our client?
- This luxury riverside hotel in the heart of Amsterdam enjoys spectacular views over the historical city centre and vistas over the river IJ. It is an inspiring and inviting property which features 408 contemporary and modern hotel rooms and suites, an all-day à la carte restaurant, a hotel bar, a gym, two saunas, massage room, and 21 versatile state-of-the-art meeting rooms ideal for conferences, events, and weddings.
What will you do?
- As Manager, you will lead the Conference & Events team, which consists of a large number of specialists. You will be a crucial sparring partner for the entire Sales team and the Banqueting Manager/department. You will report to the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for the region and maintain frequent contact with the Director of Revenue.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Writing improvement plans;
- Creating budgets and forecasts;
- Directly coaching your Assistant C&E Manager;
- Indirectly coaching the entire team;
- Improving sales skills through mystery calls and training, among others;
- Networking within the company’s various branches;
- Optimising all sales processes and occupancy for MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions);
- Jointly defining pricing strategy with revenue management.
Who are you?
- You have 5 years of experience in a similar management position in a hotel;
- You have at least 2 years of F&B/Banqueting operational experience;
- You have HBO thinking and working level;
- If you have knowledge of Opera, that’s a plus!
- You have a good command of the English and Dutch languages;
- You are legally permitted to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid dutch work permit;
- You live in Amsterdam (or nearby).
