
Breakfast Chef for luxury Amsterdam hotel
What will you do?
- As Breakfast Chef, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing breakfast preparation and placement activities; Evaluating the freshness, shelf life, and quality of the ingredients to be used;
- Checking of the quality, taste, colour, freshness of prepared dishes;
- Preparing orders using a la carte cooking techniques, portioning and garnishing according to the restaurant’s breakfast standards;
- Ensuring that the buffets are properly stocked, set up, and decorated;
- Planning the daily work responsibilities and ordering of supplies and ingredients from suppliers;
- Receiving, controlling and organising the ordered items, preserving the shelf life and hygiene.
Who are you?
- You have experience working in large hotel kitchens;
- You have a completed SVH cook’s diploma (SVH Zelfstandig Werkend Kok);
- You are proficient in a variety of cooking techniques;
- You are motivated and enthusiastic;
- You enjoy interacting with guests;
- You have a good command of the English and/or Dutch languages;
- You are legally permitted to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid dutch work permit;
- You live in Amsterdam (or nearby).
Terms of Employment
- Full-time contract of 38 hours per week;
- CAO Horeca salary scale 5. This is usually between € 2,052.36 and € 2,524.17 gross per month;
- 25 holiday days per year; Travel allowance of up to €150 per month, based on mileage;
- Night surcharge of 20% and Sunday surcharge of 5%;
