What will you do?

    As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will oversee and support the restaurant’s operations to ensure productivity and an enjoyable dining experience for your guests. This involves scheduling shifts, supporting the runners and waiters, and addressing guest complaints and queries in a respectful manner.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Opening and closing the restaurant;
  • Appointing, inducting, and coaching new staff members;
  • Scheduling shifts and assigning tables to wait staff;
  • Resolving guests’ questions and complaints in a professional manner;
  • Conducting payroll activities in an accurate, timely manner;
  • Ensuring that the restaurant adheres to health and safety regulations;
  • Recording all income and expenses and ensuring that cash registers are balanced;
  • Supporting the restaurant manager in the implementation of a revenue and commercial optimization strategy;
  • Assisting with inventory management and supplies deliveries.

Who are you?

  • You have at least one year of restaurant management or supervising experience, preferably at a destination restaurant;
  • You have a proven track record of team leadership and development;
  • You are able to manage conflict;
  • You are innovative, trustworthy, and objective;
  • You have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays;
  • You are pleasant, positive, and approachable;
  • You have a very good command of the English language. Dutch is an advantage!
  • You are legally permitted to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid dutch work permit;
  • You live in Amsterdam (or nearby).

Terms of Employment

  • CAO Horeca salary scale 7. This is usually between € 2,530 and € 3,174 gross per month (based on a full-time contract), depending on your experience;
  • A year-end bonus of up to 100% of your gross monthly salary;
  • After your first three months, you will get a € 250 (gross) signing bonus, followed by a second € 500 bonus (gross) after 12 months;
  • € 500 (gross) refer-a-friend bonus;
