One of the largest hospitality companies in the world is looking for a committed and ambitious Assistant Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the team of one of their hotels in Berlin! What will you do?

    As Assistant Director of Sales & Marketing, you will independently manage the four-person Event Sales team. From start to finish, your team will be in charge of all aspects of the sales process, including proposal preparation, terms and conditions negotiation, contract creation, event planning, and follow-up. Your daily tasks will include:
  • Coaching, mentoring and furthering the development of the members of the Event Sales team;
  • Allocating tasks within the team according to the resources and business requirements involved;
  • Achieving annual budgeted sales in the Rooms, Conference & Banqueting segments of MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions), Corporate, Leisure Travel and Government, in close collaboration with the Cluster Sales Team;
  • Ensuring optimal utilisation of event space and room occupancy, working closely with the Cluster Director of Revenue Management;
  • Supporting the management team in the preparation of the monthly forecast and the annual budget, and being part of the monthly revenue meeting;
  • Developing and ensuring the implementation of specific sales strategies with a focus on the MICE, Corporate Travel, Leisure Travel, and Government core segments in order to achieve budgeted revenue;
  • Supporting the creation and implementation of the annual marketing plan;
  • Setting and achieving individual and team-wide targets to ensure the hotel’s financial success;
  • Relationship management of existing & new customers, those in the MICE segment.
  • You have several years of professional management experience in the field of Event Sales;
  • A team player who is constantly and independently in close contact with all departments;
  • You have a sales personality: empathy, emotion, passion and strong negotiating and organisational skills;
  • Communicative and solution-oriented in your work, with a high level of initiative and commitment;
  • You are a frequent contributor of creative and innovative ideas;
  • You have a good command of the German and English languages;
  • You are legally permitted to work in Germany, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid work visa:
  • You live in Berlin (or nearby).
